Happy Tuesday....

Today I am posting three cards I made over the week-end.
The first one I made is for my sister and brother-in-laws anniversary tomorrow...Happy Anniversary Diana and Chuckie poo....XOXO
I LOVE peacocks and would probably own one if they weren't so loud...teehee!!!
The other two are mothers day cards one will be for my mother-in-law... so the question is which one. Which ONE would you choose???  I really like the orange and green together.

Hope you are inspired to make a one layer with one embellishment card for someone you cherish. If you have any questions just let me know and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I really would LOVE your feedback on which mother's day card to choose A or B? I am also playing with a new photo editing program..what do ya think???  Please know your thoughts and suggestions are treasured.  Thank you for sharing your time with me...(((HUGS))) Leta

Happy Sunday to you all.

I thought today I would share a bit of scripture God lead me to this morning with my personal thoughts on it. When reading may thoughts pleased keep in mind I believe STRONGLY that you should ALWAYS seek out GOD's meaning of His word for yourself by reading, praying and letting the holy spirit speak to your own spirit. (((HUGS)))
Scripture from the Bible Gateway website you can visit by clicking here

2 Corinthians 9   New King James Version (NKJV)

Administering the Gift

9 Now concerning the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you; 2 for I know your willingness, about which I boast of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up the majority. 3 Yet I have sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this respect, that, as I said, you may be ready; 4 lest if some Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we (not to mention you!) should be ashamed of this confident boasting. 5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation.

The Cheerful Giver

6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:
“He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Personal thoughts:
I have always worried about spreading GOD's word by teaching or speaking boldly and confidantly thus my belief that you should read and seek the TRUTH for yourself and not take my opinion on it because after all I am just a servant...anyway: this morning I believe GOD was showing me that there are other ways of spreading His word  such as giving monetarily. Example: I can give money GOD has provided to a person who is able to boldly speak the truth that may not have the means by which to do so. By giving (dropping), even the smallest seed, is like dropping a rock in the ocean and the ripples spread and spread. When we tell someone "GOD loves you" that is a seed_when we help carry a load in GOD's name that is a seed_helping someone that is hungry in GOD's name is a seed_giving someone hurting a HUG in GOD's name is a seed_even the inspiration we give through our crafting, cooking, diy etc...blogs_is a seed because we are helping others give happiness and comfort which are from GOD. The list goes on and on just like the ripple....I always rely on the fact that GOD's word will NOT return void. May GOD continually bless you ALL with HIS mercy and grace.  Thank you for letting me ramble today...I don't do it very often...lol   (((HUGS)))

Playing with Wax Paper

Hello my friends... I hope you all had a fantabulous day. Last night I played with a technique using wax paper and embossing folders  that I learned from watching Gina K's video Wild About Wax Paper. If you have not tried this you should give it a go...so much fun and the results are amazing. The must haves for this technique are:
  • Wax Paper
  • Die cut / Embossing Machine...I used my old faithful - Original Sizzix
  • Embossing Folder (your choice)...I used a variety of folders from a couple of manufacturers
  • Ink (your choice)...I used a variety of brands and colors
  • White card stock...I used 80lb card stock from my supply
  • Iron...Dry heat ONLY
Step 1: Cut a piece of wax paper to fit your embossing folder
Step 2: Using your embossing machine..emboss the wax paper
Step 3: Layer your embossed wax paper between 2 pieces of white card stock...I cut mycardstock the same size as my wax paper
Step 4: Using your iron lightly press the card stock sandwich with DRY HEAT for approx. 10 sec or so...this causes the wax to adhere to your card stock causing a resist image that will be difficult to see.
Step 5: Apply ink to the side of the card stock that your wax paper was on and watch the embossed image appear like magic. Wipe off excess ink with a dry paper towel

Please refer to Gina's video for details and a better tutorial on this technique here....it really is fun. Here are pictures of what I created last night....I pray you are inspired...enjoy...GOD bless and thank you for visiting me...(((HUGS)))

Hello my family, friends and followers,

I know its been awhile since I posted so I have a couple of cards to show off. I sure hope and pray everyone had a wonderful Easter. My Easter was filled with the laughter of my children and grandchildren along with some good old bar-b-que brisket (not as good as my daddy's so I will have to keep on trying or visit my brother in law Chuck with a brisket in hand....lol).
I entered the three following cards in a Stamp TV challenge hosted by Rosy, where we had to incorporated embossed foil. I think they all came out pretty good if I do say so myself... teehee
This first one shows my attempt at coloring with Copic markers on the pond and birds.
Have a wonderful evening or day which ever the case may be. I am headed to my craft room to play with a technique using wax paper. I will be posting my results tomorrow and hopefully a card if the technique works for me...lol
Thank you so much for stopping by and I would LOVE to know what you think. Till tomorrow my friends...(((HUGS)))

It's The Little Things

Hey there my followers, family and friends,

Today I am showcasing a card I made to enter the "Don't Throw it Away Challenge" from Moxie Fab World. This card is clean and simple using bubble wrap as the "Don't throw away" item. I also entered this in Stamp TV's "Going Green" challenge. Its was really fun looking at the items I normally throw away thinking how can I use this or how can I use that and on and on it went till I saw the sentiment I used and thought "It is the Little Things" in life, like popping bubble wrap , that can sometimes put a smile on my face. Now I have a interactive card used with recycled plastic bubble wrap....lol
I hope this will inspire you to think out of the box and look around...you never know what you might find. Thanks to "Paper Crafts" magazine, Moxie and "Stamp TV" for inspiring me.
Pray you all have a wonderul day...Thanks for stopping in (((HUGS)))

"I’m So Proud of You" card using the Letterpress Technique

I recently entered a couple of Stamp TV challenges and one of them was using a technique called “letterpress”. You can watch Gina’s tutorial for this technique here Distressed Letterpress - stampTV. I LOVE it…here is the card I made to enter the challenge along with a list of products used. I hope you are inspired to try it out…this technique renders a very rich and unique card that is sure to please any recipient. While I have never done a tutorial I am willing to try it if you would like. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and have a fantabulous day. (((HUGS)))

Country Thanks

I really like the way this thank you card turned out. I made it to enter Stamp TV's "Mix It Up Monday - Black, White and One Color" challenge. I love the simplicity of it . First I stamped and embossed the label image from Gina K's "Wishing You Joy" stamp set with versamark watermark stamp pad (ink is clear and stays tacky and wet until set with heat) sprinkled black "Super Fine Detail" embossing powder by Ranger then heat set with a heat embossing tool. I then stamped my focal image from Stampin Up's "Wanted" stamp set in Tuxedo black "Memento" ink. Cut frame and Image out  using the Nestibilities "Label 16" die, layer on top of designer paper with foam tape, attach thank you label and some green shoe lace to look like a lasso with mini glue dots. This could be used for mass production or a fast go to design. Your comments are appreciated. Thank you so much for visiting and keep up the crafting...(((HUGS)))

Welcome

Welcome to my blog! For my first post I would like to introduce you to two of my favorite sites if you don’t already know about them. My first choice for inspiration and learning is “Stamp TV” http://stamptv.ning.com/.  Gina K and her team of talented designers are great. Gina does a fantastic job at teaching different stamping techniques with her videos. A MUST see for everyone in my opinion. The product Gina uses can be purchased through Stamp TV. Gina and her team also have challenges every week where you have the opportunity to win stamps along with release party hops showcasing a new stamp release.
My second choice is Melanie Muenchinger’s blog “Hands, Head and Heart” http://melaniemuenchinger.blogspot.com/.  Melanie is senior designer for Gina K and has a wonderful book out titled “A Year in Flowers” where she illustrates the stamping and card design techniques she uses with her Coordinating stamp set “A Year of Flowers”. I just received her book and LOVE it. You can order Melanie's stamp sets and book also from Stamp TV.
I just adore the talents of the ladies and pray that you check them out.
Now, on to my journey of learning stamping and card design.
Here is my first distressed card.

While distressing is not one of my preferences I just had to give it a try to enter one of Stamp TV’s challenges and needed to make a masculine sympathy card. I don’t think it came out too bad but could use more practice as I think maybe I over stressed the card..lol. Thank you for sharing your time with me…(((HUGS)))
